Old business was an estimate from Craig Olinger to Trim up trees in front of Marsahl property as well as at the corner of N. Washington and North St. near Petary property. The bid was $200 for each job. A motion was made by Brad McKee, seconded by Marty Thompson to accept the bid for the Marsahl property and the Petary property was on the condition that the tree was not the Petary's and if it was, the City would check with Sharon Petary before any work was done. Motion carried. Karen is to get back to Craig.
A bill was presented by Jesse Clemmons for weed trimming he did at the stop sign at the corner of North Street and N. Washington. He spent an hour working and the Street Commissioner's wages are $10 per hour. A motion was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Marty Thompson to pay him $10.
Nothing more has been done on Sidewalk replacement/repair. Was discussed again and felt letters need to be sent to citizens as to the city's plan. Maybe some low interest money is available and also to apply again in Sept. thru Hamb. Helper.
The Clerk had been instructed at the last meeting to write a letter to Rathbun about places in the City that were not left like they were before after Rathbun installed water. They replied back to her in person and indicated that they would not be back to do anything as there was nothing they needed to do. One spot was a hole near a pit that needed dirt and the other was sidewalks that were broken up.
Roger Blew & friend were present to discuss their property. The van is licensed and the dually pickup will soon have a license. They are also in the process of a yard sale and have been pulling weeds and trying to clean up somewhat. They would appreciate any citizen coming to help instead of just driving by and/or stopping and gawking.
Oscar Mason's van is licensed, has a flat tire and has important stuff in it. He doesn't have any other building to put his accumulation in. Marty will visit with theproperty owner about a portable building on skids if Oscar will build it.
Street Report - the stop sign at the corner of E. Walnut and N. Madison has been replaced. The other one at N. Jefferson and W. Walnut has been straightened. Shirley Carlberg wanted some dust control on Drake Ave. and brad and others on S. Jefferson also wanted some. Following discussion regarding the amount of travel on the two streets, a motion was made by Marty Thompson, seconded by Brad McKee to put tree sap on S. Jefferson from Main Street to Seymour Street. Motion was seconded by Brad McKee and Motion carried with 4 aye votes and 1 nay vote being cast.
Brad had talked to the Davis Co. Board of Supervisors about a truck embargo on S. Washington and East Main Street for thru trucks only. The Supervisors would put the signs up and get the DOT and Hwy. Patrol made aware of it and they would have to enforce it. This embargo would be for a limited time, but all felt it would help for a while and truckers would be passing the word among themselves. A motion was made by Brian Thomas, seconded by Brad McKee to endorse the Board of supervisors in getting this embargo in place on these two roads. Motion carried.
Rick Rysdam has not done any work on the drainage ditch as yet.
The ditch in front of the Closser property on N. Washington has not been mowed. The Clerk is to write them a letter to get it mowed up.
A motion to adjourn was made by Marty Thompson, seconded by Brad McKee and the meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm
