Drakesville City Council Meeting

February 8, 2005

 

Roll Call for the regular December monthly meeting was answered by Mayor, Karen Rudd, Council Members, Marty Thompson, Sharon Sines, Vicky Thomas and Clerk, Mary Stocker.  Brian Thomas arrived Later.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Clerk and approved with a motion by Sharon Sines, seconded by Marty Thompson and motion carried.

The Financial Report presented by the Clerk showed expenses and receipts for the month of November as well as bills for payment in December.  A motion to accept the report and pay the bills was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Marty Thompson and motion carried.

The Clerk read the Park Board Minutes and a motion to accept them was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Vicky Thomas and motion carried.

Mayor Karen Rudd appointed Brain Thomas to fill the Council Position created by Edith Wilt.  a motion was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Vicky Thomas to approve the Mayor's appointment.  Motion carried.

Sidewalks - Lila to check "Hamburger Helper"

Grant Test - Council Members will meet December 12 at 7:30 to take the test.

Road construction - no report on any ditches - weather may hold up anything being done until Spring.

The Clerk report that the County would clean the streets of snow - upon request - for $47.52 per hour.  A motion was made by Sharon Sines to accept their bid in lieu of Altheide Snow Removal ( see No. minutes).  Motion was seconded by Marty Thompson and motion carried.

The Agreement with the County Engineers Office was accepted with a motion by Marty Thompson, seconded by Sharon Sines and the Mayor signed it.  Motion carried.

Vandalism of the Christmas lights has occurred on the Oval.  Bulbs removed and broken, wooden reindeer broken, lighted circular tree damaged and other things.  The council decided that possibly the Sheriff's Office should visit with the parents of suspected individuals.

The Ordinance Book needs updated - council members are to start reviewing it on their own and making notes and we will start discussing after first of the year.

Stop, street and other signs still need to be replaced.

January meeting set for Jan. 8th at 7:30 pm
